France - country guest of honor at FITS - Sibiu International Theatre Festival 2013
The 20th anniversary of the International Theatre Festival of Sibiu corresponds to the accession of Romania at the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie.
It was natural to select France as guest of honor at this year Festival and mark these two events with a strong French presence.
The festival became, thanks to the organizers and the theatric company invited through in the last years, one of the most important festivals in Europe.
It is known that Romania shares with France the same values, specially the concepts of diversity and culture. The festival grow both in terms of number of performances,
partnerships, and in the direction of the audience.
In this Festival France will be represented by company well known, such as Théâtre de l’Europe Odéon, Théâtre du Soleil, street theater, dance company Alain Buffard, U Teatrino de Corse. The organizers announce some special appearance - Richard Demarcy with “Naif’, the shows of Les Goulus Company, Divine Quincaillerie, Kabaret de poche, Musicomicale.
During the seven days of celebration, these outstanding performances, their directors, artists
will come to the meeting with the public to illustrate the vitality of French theater. They propose an
overview of the artistic diversity of France which will be illustrated in the daily meetings.
